Associate / Resident / Assistant Choreographer - CABARET
With the recent announcement of CABARET Broadway next year, an opportunity to be part of the Choreography team on the seven Olivier award winning production of the classic musical CABARET in London’s West End, directed by Rebecca Frecknall and designed by Tom Scutt as we go into our third year, has arisen.
Start Date: Ideally Monday 14 August 2023 (to learn the show with new Year 3 cast) until end of May 2024 initially.
Role: Associate/Resident/Assistant Choreographer, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
· With the rest of the team, maintain the artistic choreographic vision/ dance language / choreography of the Prologue and show.
· Liaise with creative team from other departments where needed.
· Manage Dance Captains, look after ensemble of dancers.
· Lead warm-ups if needed
· Learn and prepare track changes where required.
· Manage cast changes and help run auditions, assist director/associate director if needed to look at movement, adjust to new bodies/bring new people in the production, whilst having new interpretations adjustments but not deviating from the original choreographic intention/story.
· Lead/ help with auditions for new cast members.
· Rehearse Swing covers for Prologue and show.
· Minimum 3 show watches a week.
· Be ready to go into theatre should there be any urgent changes to manage.
· Maintain and update choreographic bible and update video drive when needed.
· General support of Choreographic team as and when needed.
Contract Type: Based on Equity standard terms.
Weekly Fee: Depending on experience.
