Stage Manager
The Ambassador Theatre Group is an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to producing shows and ticketing, through our industry-leading sites ATGtickets.com, LOVEtheatre and Group Line. We are passionate about great shows and our ambition is to help them find the largest possible audiences.
New Wimbledon Theatre is the closest regional theatre to London with a large seating capacity (1,600), excellent transport links, and a 66-seat Studio Theatre. Our venue team is made up of experts across Management, Technical & Maintenance, Marketing & Communications, Customer Experience, Ticketing & Sales and Stage Door departments. Hosting a diverse range of locally- and nationally based producers, we host a wide range of performances throughout the year and welcome people through our doors to enjoy: The best touring musicals, dance; tributes; comedy; our ever-popular family Pantomime; along with serving as a popular filming location for the film and tv industry. Our primary aim is to deliver fantastic live entertainment with style, and we take pride in the warm welcome we show to each other, our companies and our visitors.
We are excited to be recruiting an experienced Stage Manager for the wonderful New Wimbledon Theatre. As Stage Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our standards of presentation, both on stage and in the rest of the building, are exemplary. You will also have an opportunity to develop our backstage operations and will be leading a team with many years of experience, who are skilled at what they do, but who are also willing to adopt new ideas and practices.
This position reports directly to the Technical Manager and works alongside our Chief LX. The Stage Manager is responsible for the Stage department, including a Senior Stage Technician, Stage Technician, and casual staff. You will be expected to have extensive experience in Counterweight flying, rigging and stage engineering.
This is an exciting role in one of ATG’s flagship theatres and will contribute to New Wimbledon Theatre’s long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior role and will relish a new challenge in a busy, dynamic, and developing theatre.
