Electrics Technician for West End Venues

The Ambassadors Theatre Group are looking for a theatre lighting technician to join us in a new and unique role of Electrics Technician to support our 10 venues across the West End. These venues include London's busiest, highest-profile theatres: the Apollo Victoria, home to the hit musical Wicked; The Lyceum Theatre, home to Disney's The Lion King in the West End; and The Phoenix Theatre soon to be the Home of Stranger Things, plus theatres including the Duke of York’s and the Harold Pinter, which have been home to some of the most exciting productions in the West End over the past 12 months.

You will assist the Heads of Departments and Technical & Buildings Managers with the day to day running of the theatre from a technical perspective. You will assist with the get ins, fit ups, and get outs of new productions and visiting events, as well as assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the theatre. Whilst the role of Electrics Technician supports the Electrics department, there may be opportunities and occasions when you will be required to support other areas of operation, including stage, maintenance, and facilities for example. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, with no two days the same. There will be opportunities to support work across our West End estate of theatres, working with various productions to ensure a smooth production period. This role involves regular evening and weekend work.

To succeed in this role you'll need to be a clear communicator, able to develop an effective working relationship with our venue teams, visiting companies and ATG's central services as well as contractors and suppliers; additionally to technical knowledge, great people skills are vital in this role, along with a collaborative and pragmatic approach to problem solving. Please note regular evening and weekend work will be required.

Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract.
