Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) – October 2023

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for an experienced, Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) to work on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of an Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) on a first-class West End production. 

Previous experience as an ASM (Book Cover) on a busy show is essential. 

Skills required include attention to detail, the ability to stay calm under the pressure in a busy live production environment and good all-round technical skills. 

Candidates should have experience working on shows with large moving scenery and/or Automation. Ideal candidates will have experience calling complex sequences on visual cues and to musical counts, and experience of performer flying. 

Start Date: Mid November

Job Location: The Palace Theatre, West End

Contract Type: A year contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.
