Stage Door Assistant
The Bristol Hippodrome is one of the United Kingdom’s largest stages and is the established home in the region for large scale West End and touring shows. We're part of the Ambassador Theatre Group, an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to ticketing platforms and producing shows.
Stage Door is the entrance to our busy theatres for staff, visiting companies and contractors. The first point of contact for the companies bringing their shows to the Bristol Hippodrome, this is a responsible reception role in a dynamic, interesting environment. We're looking for new members of the team to join us in time for reopening later this summer.
As a Stage Door Assistant you'll be responsible for ensuring the security of the building, operating the theatre's switchboard and providing a great welcome to everyone visiting us. The role is a permanent part-time (20 hours per week) with the possibility of additional hours. Shifts could be during the day, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
If you have the skills to achieve our goals and an affinity for our values we’d like to hear from you! Please download a copy of the job description for further details on the role. Experience from within the entertainment sector is not essential and we actively encourage applications from people from the widest range of backgrounds, including those currently under-represented in this industry.
We are a Disability Confident Committed Employer, which means that we are taking action to ensure that people with disabilities and long-term health conditions feel supported, engaged and able to fulfil their potential in the workplace. We will offer an interview or recruitment event to disabled candidates who tell us they wish to participate in the scheme and who demonstrate in their application that they best meet the essential criteria for the role. Where we receive more applications than we are reasonably able to interview for any given role, we will retain applications for the next available interview opportunity wherever possible.
If you’d like to discuss accessibility prior to applying, please review our job description where you will see a contact e mail address to request a confidential discussion.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and strive to provide a stage for everyone. Onstage and off, we hold ourselves accountable for nurturing an inclusive culture. Find out more about us and our values at atg.co.uk and careers.atg.co.uk
