Chief Electrician

The King’s Theatre, Glasgow has welcomed some of the world’s best performers in a vast array of concerts, comedy shows, dramas and musicals. As Chief Electrician at The King’s Theatre, you will work with the Stage Manager in leading the skilled team and helping to develop our back-stage operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the efficient scheduling of technical staff to service the operational needs of the King’s Theatre. To achieve this through long-term planning, costing and multi-skilling.
- To work closely with Visiting Companies to ensure their technical needs are met.
- To co-ordinate time sheets, ensuring that they are correct and ready for processing on time.
- Responsibility for the stage/technical areas and efficient get-in, fit-up and get-out of all productions.
- To create a planned maintenance regime for all electric equipment.
- Help Develop a skilled, cohesive and motivated team by ensuring high standards of communication, development and training.
- At times, and as the business requires, to work at other ATG venues and complete other duties as required.
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of procedures and facilities in accordance with Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999) for theatre employees and visiting companies.
- Attend regular departmental meetings and ensure the team are well-informed and motivated
What are we looking for?
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a technical role; experience in venues of our type and scale is highly desirable.
- Ability to motivate staff
- Experience of working with touring companies
- An organised, methodical approach to work, with the ability to help implement systems and procedures
