Stage Management Internship

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a Stage Management Internship on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone who wishes to gain practical experience and knowledge in theatre stage management.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017. 

The internship will run from August to October 2024 across the Production’s recast rehearsals. The Intern will work across Monday to Saturday each week. Standard working hours will be between 9.30am – 7.30pm, although some evenings may be required. 

The Intern will be trained and supported by the show’s Stage Management department. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: supporting technical elements of the rehearsals, maintain props, shadowing show plots. 

We ask that candidates should:

  • Be able to demonstrate interest and experience in theatre stage management. 
  • Have some practical experience of supporting live events or productions on a voluntary or amateur basis.
  • Be eager to learn.
  • Work well under pressure and within a team. 

Professional experience is not required.

This internship is best suited for those in the final year of a university course. Note that this internship is for over 18s only.
