Casual Lighting and Sound Technician

Affectionately referred to as the ‘West End of the North East,’ Sunderland Empire has been a beacon of entertainment throughout its 117-year history. Our beautiful Grade 2 listed theatre attracts a dedicated audience from across the region, drawing in over 300,000 visitors annually to a variety of productions, including West End musicals, one-night concerts, comedy, ballet, opera and more. With a capacity of 2000, Sunderland Empire is the largest seated theatre between Edinburgh and Manchester. Over the years we have hosted the biggest West End musicals and featured an array of stars, while ensuring we continue to foster new talent and nurture those who will be the future of our creative industries with classes, recitals and community work all part of our DNA. 

Casual Lighting and Sound Technicians work as part of a team reporting to the Technical Manager, or Stage Manager. You’ll work closely with visiting companies, touring teams and contractors as well as other ATG venue staff. Working as part of the venue Technical team you will support all productions and events programmed, ensuring their technical requirements are achieved. This role provides a professional, enabling and efficient service for all customers and visitors to ATG’s venues.
